Amazon’s Global Compensation Learning and Engagement team is looking for a Sr. Learning Experience Designer with expertise in instructional design, UX design, project management and training development. The Learning and Engagement team mission is to develop specific skills in employees and leaders across the company. The Sr. Learning Experience Designer plays a vital role in advancing our team’s impact at Amazon. We look for data-driven and action-oriented ways to drive learning and seek to continually evolve our programs based on participant feedback. We are a tight-knit team with a passion for training and development, made up of learning professionals, subject matter experts and experienced business leaders.

The Sr. Learning Experience Designer will be responsible for the technical design and deployment of a core HR skills training with a focus on decision making. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has a strong instructional design, technical skills and training development background. The ideal candidate will be someone who has built training & development programs from the ground-up and is open to trying new, innovative approaches to learning. They must excel at earning trust when working cross-functionally, possess great communication skills, demonstrate high standards and design with the customer in mind. Successful candidates will have relevant experience in managing multiple projects and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment to help build a learning environment where learners can build skills just-in-time.

The primary responsibilities for the Sr. Learning Experience Designer include:

  • The technical design of learning materials, modules and infographics.
  • The technical design of eLearning modules, with the help of subject matter experts
  • Designing and delivering training for our mid-level through senior manager-level global organization
  • Working with program and product managers across the Business Leadership teams to create seamless training experiences for participants
  • Re-designing and creating innovative, actionable training based on the needs of our employees
  • Continually striving to raise the bar on our training experiences by measuring the impact and seeking customer feedback to determine areas for improvement
  • Confidence to speak publicly and influence senior leaders as an expert in learning design
  • Developing and executing evaluation strategies for programs
  • Partnering with remote teams to build out development experiences with a global mindset
  • Influencing key stakeholders to continually invest in training


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behavior, Business, Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years’ work experience driving Learning and Development design, implementation, and management
  • Demonstrated expertise with complex negotiations
  • Superior speaking, classroom delivery, and group process facilitation skills
  • Program Management experience that includes managing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Experience designing training programs from the ground-up
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and execute in a customer-centric manner
  • Desire to think beyond traditional classroom training experiences and innovate in this space
  • Detail-oriented, team-focused, and a quick problem-solver


  • Master’s degree in related discipline: Instructional Design, Organizational Psychology, Business, etc.
  • Experience designing negotiations training including online, on-the-job and in-person experiences
  • Experience developing interactive scenario-based eLearning courses
  • Experience developing communications content for diverse audiences
  • Prior experience working with Tech, Ops and/or Business functional learning a plus
  • Proven ability to write and edit crisp documents
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with SME’s, global stakeholders and internal customer groups
  • Qualified/certified in a variety of psychometric instruments
  • Proven ability to influence leaders at all levels to understand their role in employee development and help build their skills
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and launch original learning solution(s) with real impact
  • Certified in Public Speaking, Coaching, and/or content design
  • Experience with Simulation-design
