The Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) selected Boise State University’s Organizational Workplace and Performance Learning (OPWL) faculty member Dr. Lisa Giacumo to receive AECT’s 2020 Presidential Award for her leadership work on the CLT Board with social justice. Dr. Giacumo worked with the board to write a statement to guide AECT with its much-needed DEI reflections on issues of race, power, diversity, and social justice – especially in policy and practice. The Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) is a professional association of instructional designers, educators and professionals who provide leadership and advise policy makers in order to sustain a continuous effort to enrich teaching and learning.

About the OPWL Program

The Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) program helps prepare students for careers in the areas of instructional design, training and development, e-learning, workplace performance improvement, organizational development, program evaluation and performance consulting.
