How long have you served on the Advisory Board?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since June 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you part of any committees? If so, what is your role?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am the current chairperson of the Track 3 Curriculum Committee.  Track 3 handles recruitment of presenters for classes in Natural Sciences, Environment and Health and Well Being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your most memorable Osher Institute experience?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My first Track 3 Meeting made it apparent to me that the very high standards and positive outlook of the Osher decision makers were at the core of the wonderful classes that I had attended.  I immediately wanted to be part of this, and hopefully to contribute to the ongoing success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Favorite Osher presentation you have attended thus far?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cancer Types, Treatment and Technologies, presented by oncologists from St. Luke\u2019s Mountain States Tumor Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you a Boise native? If not, where are you originally from?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington.  I moved to California during college, and eventually moved to Nevada when I accepted a tenure track teaching job.  I moved to Boise when I retired from teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your career history?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was a full-time professor of Environmental Science and Biology at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada for 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What hobbies do you enjoy?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My passion is outdoor photography.  I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and attending sporting events of my grandniece and grandnephew (currently volleyball and football, respectively).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you doing to occupy your time during the stay-at-home order?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I had been planning to purchase a new computer as soon as I could find the time to set it all up and learn some new, current photo editing programs.  The stay-at-home order presented just that time interval that I needed!  I now have a wonderful new desktop, set up and ready to rock!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
