Associate Professor of physics Brian Jackson presented his research on \u201cDust Devils and Convective Vortices Observed by Mars 2020 Perseverance\u201d at the American Astronomical Society 240 Conference held in June.<\/p>\n

According to Jackson, \u201cA key source of dust, dust devils help drive weather and climate on Mars. With a sophisticated suite of meteorological instruments, the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover can detect when a dust devil passes nearby \u2014 the instruments can see the pressure and dust perturbations from the dust devils.\u201d<\/p>\n
