About the Program
The NIDA Summer Research Internship Program is seeking applicants, and you’re invited to apply!
The NIDA Summer Research Internship Program supports students, with a focus on increasing underrepresented populations, in substance abuse and addiction research.
Through this program, interns will be introduced to the field of substance abuse and addiction research by participating in research with NIDA’s distinguished scientists at universities across the United States.
The program is eight weeks long, and may include:
- Laboratory experiments
- Data collection
- Data analysis
- Participation in lab meetings
- Patient interviews
- Manuscript preparation
- Literature reviews
Additionally, each intern is expected to deliver a formal presentation on their research at the end of the program. Housing and travel costs will be covered by NIDA, and interns will be paid a salary of $15.00 per hour.
