Stress Relief Resources for Finals Week

Text that reads: "You Got This!"

With Finals Week around the corner, the PSYC Advising Team would like to share some of our favorite virtual and on-campus resources for stress relief. You are going to crush the last two weeks of this semester!

Virtual Resources

Monterey Bay Aquarium Live Webcams

The Monterey Bay Aquarium’s webcams allow you access to a live feed of several different exhibits, some with calming music in the background. There are ten different feeds to choose from, all showcasing different animals housed in the aquarium.

NPR Isle of Calm Playlist

NPR has created a six-hour playlist of soothing music that can be easily streamed using Spotify or Apple Music. If you do not have access to Spotify or Apple Music, check out this soothing music playlist from YouTube instead.

Monday Mandala

The Monday Mandala website contains hundreds of printable mandala coloring pages. Choose one you like, download the file, print it, and start coloring!

UCLA Health Guided Meditations

UCLA Health has created a library of virtual guided meditations. The meditations range in length from three minutes to nineteen minutes and are also available in several languages.

Jigsaw Explorer

Jigsaw Explorer allows you to choose from and complete hundreds of virtual jigsaw puzzles, with new options added every day. These puzzles are a great way to relieve stress, and don’t come with the mess that a regular puzzle does.

Do Nothing for 2 Minutes

Do Nothing for 2 Minutes is a website that sets a timer for two minutes when you open their page, while also playing relaxing ocean sounds. If you touch your keyboard or mouse, the timer will reset to make sure you have at least two minutes of rest.

On-Campus Resources

Individual Counseling

Health Services offers individual counseling by appointment, allowing students the opportunity to work one-on-one with a counselor in a confidential setting to address personal issues. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available. To schedule an appointment with a counselor, call Health Services at (208) 426-1459.

Crisis Counseling

If a problem or crisis feels too overwhelming to wait for a scheduled appointment, staff are available at Health Services who can provide crisis counseling. To access these services, call Health Services at (208) 426-1459 or stop by their office in person, which is located on the second floor of the Norco Building.

Oasis Room

Call Health Services at (208) 426-1459 to reserve a time to visit the Oasis Room. This room is equipped with a biofeedback device, a noise machine, a therapy light box, and a massage chair, and was designed to be a rejuvenating and healing space.
