Protocol for Addressing Microbial Growth Concerns

If a student reports visible mold in their residential living area, Housing and Residential Life (HRL) staff will investigate.

The ability to address concerns early serves to minimize the impact, both in addressing the issue and the follow up with residents.

Students are encouraged to reach out to Boise State Public Health at publichealth@boisestate.edu or to leave a message at (208) 426-1523 regarding any microbial growth concerns, including mold and mildew.

Reporting Concern Steps

  1. Student reaches out to Boise State Public Health with a request to address a potential microbial growth issue, being as specific as possible to identify the location and extent of the problem.
  2. Public Health will address all immediate student concerns, including health questions and next steps.
  3. Boise State HRL staff will physically investigate the space concern within 1-2 business days and coordinate remediation efforts, as needed.
