Parking and Traffic Advisory: Plan ahead for Homecoming Week parking and traffic impacts

Parking and access updates for Homecoming events

It’s Homecoming Week at Boise State! Campus will be buzzing with visitors and celebrations as we welcome alumni, families, and fans. Please plan ahead for increased parking demand, heavier traffic, and temporary road and lot closures as we help to keep campus running smoothly.

Be sure to check the parking and permit information throughout this message for important details about restrictions and impacts during Homecoming Week.


Major events this week

  • Parent and Family Weekend: Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 9–12
  • Homecoming Parade: 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10.
  • Homecoming Game versus New Mexico: 7:45 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11

These events will bring additional visitors and vehicles to campus beginning Thursday and continuing through the weekend.


Important reminders

Alternative parking: Alternative Parking arrangements may change periodically due to other on-campus events. For the latest information regarding this game day, please review the full advisory.

Lot closures: All vehicles must be removed from closing lots before the specific time to avoid towing.

Boise State University Homecoming Parade

Friday, Oct. 10, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

Street closures

The following street sections will be closed starting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, and will remain closed until the parade finishes its route:

  • Cesar Chavez, between Earle St. and Broadway Ave.
  • Bronco Lane, between the Kinesiology Building and the east entrance on University Dr. 

Parking and permit information

West Reserve (WR) permit holders

  • Lot closures: the Towers Surface lot (area between Morrison Center and Brady Garage)
  • Closure time: between 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Implications: Any vehicle remaining in these lots after closing time may be subject to citations and/or towing. Please be sure to move your vehicle from the lot prior to closing time.
  • Alternative Parking: During this time, impacted permit holders may use the Capitol Village and Health Sciences Riverside Lots. 

Brady Garage (BG) and Resident West (RW) permit holders

Decreased availability: Permit holders can expect higher demand in zoned lots beginning Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, continuing through until after the football game; parking will be provided as available, with alternative options in nearby lots.


Boise State University Homecoming Football Game

Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, with kick-off at 7:45 p.m.

Street closures

The following street sections will be closed starting at 6 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, and will remain closed until the end of the game:

  • Manitou Avenue: Between Belmont St. and University Dr. 
  • Grant Avenue: Between Belmont St. and University Dr. 

 Alternative Routes: Beacon St., University Dr., Capitol Blvd.

Shuttle operations 

  • Route: service to Lincoln Garage, Brady Garage, and Albertsons Stadium
  • Hours of operation: 5:45 p.m. through one hour after the game
  • Frequency: every 10 to 15 minutes
  • Accessible options: available on every shuttle

Parking and permit information

Alumni and Friends Reserve (AFC), East Commuter (EC), East Reserve (ER), and South Reserve (SR) permit holders

  • Lot closures: Cesar Chavez Lane, East Stadium, West Stadium, Bronco Lane, Engineering Tech (ET), Norco, and Alumni and Friends lots
  • Closure time: 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10
  • Implications: Any vehicle remaining in these lots after closing time may be subject to citations and/or towing. Please be sure to move your vehicle from the lot prior to closing time.

South Commuter (SC) and Lincoln Garage permit holders

Decreased availability: Permit holders can expect higher demand in zoned lots before and during the game; parking will be provided as available, with alternative options in nearby lots.

Alternative parking options

Starting 6 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, impacted permit holders may use the following lots as alternative parking to support increased game-day demand:

  • Brady Garage
  • Capitol Village lot
  • Health Sciences Riverside lots
  • Boas Tennis and Soccer Center (Satellite lot)
  • Dona Larsen Park (Satellite lot)

Notice to West Reserve (WR), Residents (RC, RE, RW, RS), Capitol Village (CV), and Brady Garage permit holders

  • Brady Garage, Capitol Village lot, and the Health Sciences Riverside lots serve as alternative parking for other permit holders displaced by events, which may reduce available spaces before and during game times.
  • If a lot becomes full, on-site event staff will direct you to additional parking options.

Heads up: During this game, the Towers surface lot between the Morrison Center and Brady Garage will also be reserved for special event parking. Please plan ahead and use alternative lots as needed.
