Colleen was hired by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) in 2003 as a Wildlife Technician to write an all-bird monitoring plan called the Idaho Bird Inventory and Survey. She was hired in 2004 as a Wildlife Research Biologist to implement that plan and spent a lot of time in the field surveying for a wide variety of waterbirds, including American White Pelicans and White-faced Ibis.

From 2010-2012, Colleen served as Secretary for the Idaho Chapter of The Wildlife Society. Currently, she is an Avian Ecologist for the Wildlife Diversity Program of IDFG in Boise, Idaho.

She and her husband welcomed a baby girl into the world in May 2011, and the little one is already showing a keen interest in our feathered friends!
