A what-if report is similar to the AAR (Academic Advisement Report) version, where it provides an estimate of the requirements you need to complete a degree other than your current major/minor. You will be provided with a suggested path to complete the “what-if” degree plan.
To run a new report, click What-If Report under the Preferences section.

Under the Academic Program column, select Undergraduate Non-Degree Seek. Then choose your Area of Study, with the plan term set to the same catalog year as your current plan.
You can experiment with other catalog years, but remember that officially changing your catalog year requires a catalog update form to be submitted to and approved by the Registrar’s Office.
If prompted, choose a sub-plan (or emphasis) for the major chosen. And add any additional plans you would like to add.

Click Continue. Please be patient, it will take a few moments for Degree Tracker to generate a full report.

If you’re unsure how to get to your Degree Tracker, please watch our “How to Access Degree Tracker” video for a detailed walkthrough.
The What-If report gives you a visual breakdown of the requirements for any major, minor, or certificate. It’s perfect for seeing how your completed courses would apply to a new program and how long it might take you to graduate.
Ready to explore your options? Let’s dive in. Once in Degree Tracker, find the “Preferences” section and click on What-If Report.
In the new window, you’ll define your scenario.
First, set the Academic Program to “Undergraduate Non-Degree Seek.”
Next, in the Area of Study, choose the major, minor, or certificate you want to explore.
For the Plan Term, select the catalog year from your original degree plan. You can experiment with other catalog years, but remember that officially changing your catalog year requires a catalog update form to be submitted to and approved by the registrar’s office.
If prompted, choose a specific sub-plan or emphasis. You can also add another academic plan if you’re considering a double major or adding a minor.
To generate this report, click continue. The process can take a few moments, so please be patient.
Once generated, Degree Tracker provides a full eight-semester plan, showing courses you’ve completed and those still needed. For a simpler checklist view, click the What-If Report button in the top-right corner.
To go back to your official degree plan, simply click Close.
