Fall 2019 Session Deadlines

Monday, October 1 (2018)The 2019-2020 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be submitted beginning today.
Monday, December 3 (2018)2019-2020 academic year on-campus housing application available at noon for residence halls.
Saturday, December 15 (2018)Priority date for nonresident scholarships, all admission materials for new and transfer students must be received in Admissions.
Tuesday, January 15Recommended fall priority application deadline for graduate degree-seeking applicants to have all admission materials received by the Graduate College. In order to receive full consideration for fall admission, all applications must be complete and submitted to the Graduate College prior to the fall application deadline established by the individual graduate program.
Friday, February 152019-2020 FAFSA filing priority date for continuing students, new freshmen, and transfer students. Eligible students must apply by this date to maximize the amount of aid you receive. The priority filing date is not a deadline, so you may still submit the FAFSA even if the priority filing date has passed.
Friday, February 15Scholarship Priority Date to have all admission materials received in Admissions for new freshman and transfer students to be considered for scholarships for the 2019-2020 year. Last day for the Boise State Scholarship Application (online) to be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. The Boise State Scholarship website contains a list of additional scholarships that require a separate application.
Monday, April 1Registration for continuing students begins for Fall 2019 (by appointment).
Monday, April 8Last day to submit Application for Admission to Candidacy form to the Graduate College for graduate degrees and certificates to be awarded in December 2019.
Wednesday, May 1Deadline for first-time, degree-seeking, domestic undergraduate students who plan to enroll to submit online Intent to Enroll form and accompanying $100.00 enrollment confirmation.
Wednesday, May 1Standard application deadline for undergraduate, degree-seeking applicants to have all admission materials received by Admissions. Applicants who miss this application deadline will be considered for degree-seeking status on a space-available basis. Students who are not eligible for degree-seeking admission may be considered for nondegree-seeking status and are ineligible for financial aid.
Wednesday, May 15Priority date for international student application materials to be received by International Admissions for fall semester consideration.
Saturday, June 1Priority date to submit all financial aid documents to maintain 2019-2020 work-study and supplemental grants (SEOG).  Funding for these programs is limited; these awards may be cancelled if documents are not submitted by this date.
Monday, July 1First day students can begin using 2019-2020 work-study awards.
Thursday, July 25First installment of payment plan due for residence halls (on-campus housing only).
Monday, August 12Recommended date to finalize student course schedules for Fall 2019 for financial aid purposes.
Monday, August 19University, college, and department activities for faculty begin this week.
Friday, August 23Residence halls check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.

Monday, August 26Course instruction begins.
Friday, August 30Weekend courses begin.
Friday, August 30Last day faculty may submit drops for nonattendance during the first week of the semester to the Registrar’s Office.
Friday, August 30Last day to apply for graduation for graduate and undergraduate degrees and certificates to be awarded in December 2019. Late applications will be accepted but a late fee will be assessed. Students apply for graduation on myBoiseState.
Monday, September 2Labor Day (No classes. University offices closed.)
Monday, September 9Last day to submit Idaho Residency Determination Worksheet with documentation to Registrar’s Office to declare Idaho residency for Fall 2019 consideration.
Monday, September 9Fall financial aid census date. Pell Grant eligibility for financial aid determined by number of credits registered on this date.
Monday, September 9Last day for students living on campus to change residential meal plans.
Monday, September 9Last day to add graduate dissertation, thesis, project, or portfolio credit.
Wednesday, October 2Last day to add undergraduate internship and independent study.
Wednesday, October 2Last day to add graduate assessment (master's preliminary examination, doctoral preliminary examination, thesis proposal, dissertation proposal, master's comprehensive examination, doctoral comprehensive examination), directed research, independent study, internship/practicum, or reading and conference.

Friday, October 25Recommended last day for final oral dissertation, thesis, or project defense for graduate degrees to be awarded in December 2019.
Friday, November 8Last day to submit advisor-approved version of dissertation or thesis with signed Final Reading Approval, Access Agreement for a Thesis or Dissertation, and Thesis/Dissertation Checklist to the Graduate College for degrees to be awarded in December 2019.
Friday, November 8Last day for students who received a thesis or dissertation enrollment waiver to submit final version of thesis or dissertation to the Graduate College.
Monday, November 11Veterans Day Observed (Classes in session. University offices open.)
Monday–Sunday, November 25–30Thanksgiving holiday (No classes. University offices closed November 28-29.)
Friday, December 13Last day to submit final version of dissertation or thesis to the Graduate College for graduate degrees to be awarded in December 2019.

Monday–Friday, December 16–20Final semester examinations for the Regular session. Exam schedule listed on Registrar’s Office website.
Friday, December 20Last day to submit an advisor-approved copy of thesis or dissertation, along with signed Final Reading Approval, Access Agreement for a Thesis or Dissertation, and Thesis/Dissertation Checklist forms, to the Graduate College to receive a thesis or dissertation enrollment waiver for the subsequent semester.
