Our approach is based on a comprehensive risk assessment to evaluate the vulnerability of a community’s assets that include “Community Lifelines”, as well as the review of codes, plans, and regulations to integrate mitigation into each communities policy, plans and processes to improve communities’ abilities to effectively implement mitigation and resiliency strategies.

Tetra Tech’s Mitigation and Disaster Management team includes more than 1,000 emergency management practitioners, planners, and analysts. Collaborative Projects

Tetra Tech completed the Disaster Resistant University, local hazard mitigation plan for Boise State in 2020 and has been an ardent, private sector supporter of the HCRI since its inception.

    Manages the Mitigation sup-practice for the Emergency Management and Community Resilience division of Tetra Tech. Since the inception of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and its hazard mitigation planning requirements, Tetra Tech has completed single- and multi-jurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) projects for a broad range of clients and environments, from highly urbanized to predominantly rural, from coastal plains to mountainous watersheds. Over the past 15 years, we have completed plans for over 3,100 jurisdictions including universities, tribes, special districts and over 2,800 municipalities; involving outreach to 74 million residents. We have conducted more than 2,000 benefit-cost analyses to help over 100 clients seek over $2 billion in grant funding for projects related to flood, fire, earthquake, and landslide.
