Idaho NASA EPSCoR Opportunities Open
Idaho NASA EPSCoR (INE) works to increase Idaho’s competitive research capabilities in areas aligned with NASA’s missions and activities. The following 2026 funding opportunities are now open to apply:
Idaho NASA EPSCoR Research Initiation Grant (RIG) – supports early career faculty (tenure track and clinical) to gain experience and/or for established faculty to take a dramatic step in a new research direction that directly aligns with one or more of NASA’s current research interests or activities.
- Award amount: $75,000 over 1 year; no cost share required.
- Full Proposal Due Date: March 6, 2026
2026 NASA EPSCoR Basic Research Solicitation – supports scientific and/or technical research in areas that support NASA’s strategic research and technology development priorities. INE is requesting pre-proposals for this opportunity to select one proposal to be fully developed for the national competition solicitation expected to be released in March 2026.
- Award amount: $725,000 over 3 years; $362,500 cost share required.

2026 Idaho NASA EPSCoR Faculty Fellowships – supports early career researchers to gain experience and/or for established researchers to take a dramatic step in a new research direction by dedicating time through a summer fellowship to analyze and understand NASA’s needs and how their research and/or expertise might meet those needs.
- Award amount: $5,000 (salary + fringe) + F&A. No cost share required.
- Applications Due: February 27, 2026
INE will hold virtual office hours to answer any proposer questions on the following dates:
- Session #1: January 15, 2026 at 3 pm PST.
- Session #2: February 11, 2026 at 2 pm PST
- Session #3: February 20, 2026 at 11:30 am PST
Rocky Mountain REACH 2026 Pilot Award
Rocky Mountain REACH (RMT-REACH) provides funding and project management support to academic innovators across Montana, Alaska, Idaho, and Wyoming and accelerates commercialization of health innovations to market to support the creation of small businesses and create a pro-entrepreneurial culture. RMT-REACH Pilot Awards fund the advancement of promising health innovations into medical products with real-world impact.
