Summary
The Modern Equipment for Shared-use Biomedical Research Facilities: Advancing Research-Related Operations program provides funding to support the purchase of scientific equipment that will enhance and modernize research-supporting operations of existing shared biomedical research facilities. Targeted are laboratory research core facilities, animal research facilities, and other similar shared-use research spaces. The goal of the program is to strengthen research-auxiliary activities of biomedical research facilities and to enhance the efficiency of their operations. The program does not support the purchase of scientific research instruments or their components, nor components of building-level infrastructure equipment that indirectly support research activities.
Award
Minimum $50,000 direct costs only for one (1) year.
Maximum $350,000 direct costs only for one (1) year.
Limited Submission Requirements and Timeline
One (1) application per institution is permitted.
Notice of Interest Process
If interested in this submission, please complete the Notice of Interest (NOI) form by 4 PM on April 28, 2026. Only proposals approved by the Division of Research and Economic Development may be submitted to this program.
**If necessary, a further white paper round may be required**

- May 27, 2026 – Anticipated date applicants will be notified of approval
- June 1, 2026 – Proposal Intake Form due to OSP Pre-Award.
- September 18, 2026 by 9 am – All final proposal documents due to OSP
- September 25, 2026 – Full proposal due to NIH
