National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program
The Center for Research and Creative Activity (CRCA) is pleased to announce a workshop on the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP). The NSF GRFP is a prestigious fellowship program that recognizes and supports early-career graduate students who demonstrate the potential to make impactful research contributions in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support with an annual stipend of $37,000.
This workshop aims to prepare interested applicants by: providing guidance on the process and development of the proposal, providing resources to help with proposal preparation, and having a panel of past winners and past reviewers for this opportunity.
Juniors and seniors; 1st-year graduate students; graduate program coordinators, and academic and research advisors who will provide letters of recommendation are encouraged to attend this workshop.

Idaho INBRE Funding Opportunity Announcement
The Idaho IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) has published the funding opportunity announcement for the Developmental Research Project & Pilot Project Program. The purpose of this program is to stimulate research at Idaho educational institutions. These grants will create opportunities for scientists and institutions to contribute to the Nation’s biomedical and behavioral research effort by supporting small-scale research projects proposed by faculty members of eligible institutions.
Application Types
- Developmental Research Project (RP): Developmental Research Projects funded up to $100,000 (direct costs) for one year. The Project Leader (RPL) requires 50% research effort (6 months).
- Developmental Pilot Project (PP): Pilot Projects funded up to $50,000 (direct costs) for one year. The Pilot Project Leader (PPL) requires 25% research effort (3 months).
Anticipated Awards and Due Date
- Number of awards anticipated: Seven awards are anticipated to be funded. Awards are contingent upon successful renewal of the University of Idaho parent INBRE-5 grant, NIH funding appropriations, the submission of meritorious applications, and equitable geographic distribution across Idaho.
