Resilience Institute researchers, Ashley Bosa, Mitchell Meads, Zachary Provant, Sarah Whitaker, and Prithila Purkayastha will be leading a coalition-building session at the 2026 Natural Hazards Workshop in Broomfield, Colorado in June, titled, “Embracing Community-First Resilience.”

This roundtable will bring together researchers and practitioners from the Resilience Institute and from around the world who will share insights from community collaborations across their sectors. Attendees will consider how growth and environmental stewardship, infrastructure and land use, institutional culture, and social and political factors influence holistic, community-first disaster resilience projects.
