Across Idaho, small towns and tribal nations face growing risks from wildfire, flooding, economic disruption, and aging infrastructure. Many are under-resourced and overextended—lacking the capacity to plan ahead.

Every Gift Counts

From $25 to $5 million, your donation fuels real change in communities.

What Your Gift Makes Possible:

$25–$50 – Preparedness guides and outreach materials for rural and tribal communities
$100 – Travel support for Boise State students working on community projects
$250 – Meeting costs, including food, materials, and childcare, so everyone can participate
$500 – Customized hazard maps and risk assessment visuals for a community
$1,000 – Mini-grant for a local project, such as wildfire defensible space landscaping
$2,500 – Week-long student-faculty field visit to support data collection or plan development; Support for networking events.
$5,000 – Community workshop series to co-develop a local resilience strategy; Support for a Resilience Conference.

The Endowment Vision

A $1.5–5 million endowment will fund a permanent leadership position—the Endowed Chair for the Resilience Institute—ensuring long-term impact.

With donor investment, the Institute will:

Increase our ability to provide no- to low-cost resilience technical assistance to rural communities across Idaho
Build impact dashboards and annual reporting to track measurable outcomes
Integrate resilience into academic programs (Geoscience, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Management, Emergency Management)
Facilitate transformative student learning that supports community needs and builds Idaho’s future workforce

Boise State will match 4% of the total gift annually for five years, allowing us to launch new initiatives immediately.
