Venture College Joins Division of Research and Economic Development

Continues programming as part of The Junction

The Boise State University Venture College has joined the Division of Research and Economic Development, a move that is as much a homecoming as it is an evolution. Venture College was once part of this division, and its return reflects a natural realignment of shared purpose: connecting students, faculty and community partners with the resources, networks and expertise needed to turn ideas into impact.

“This transition brings together the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem under a cohesive institutional home serving all of campus,” said Nancy Glenn, Vice President of Research and Economic Development. “This transition strengthens our ability to support innovators, creators and problem-solvers at every stage of their journey,” she added.

Venture College’s programs and initiatives will continue without interruption as a core part of The Junction, the university’s hub for entrepreneurship, research and economic engagement. The Junction’s partners also include:

  • Office of Community Engagement
  • Office of Technology Transfer
  • Trailhead
  • Small Business Development Center
  • Studio/Blu
  • TechHelp
  • College of Business and Economics

The Junction launched in fall 2025, and serves as a hub where students and faculty collaborate with industry partners, regional entrepreneurs and community stakeholders to develop ventures that create real-world value, and is located at 2225 University Drive in Capitol Village.

Through The Junction, participants gain access to mentorship, funding pathways, programming and a strong network of innovators. Venture College’s signature programs, including incubator workshops, pitch competitions and business development resources, will remain fully operational and continue to grow within this collaborative environment.

This alignment positions Venture College to deepen its collaboration with campus and community partners and expand opportunities for translating university ideas into impact. University leadership looks forward to the momentum this transition will generate for students, entrepreneurs and the broader community.
