Details and Renewal Information

Students must be admitted as degree-seeking to be considered for scholarships. By completing the admissions application and meeting the criteria listed below, you will automatically be considered for one of the following scholarships without an additional application. A complete application includes the admissions application and transcript(s).

Scholarship recipients will be notified through BroncoMail and the award can be viewed in the Student Center.

Fall admits that meet the December 15th deadline and meet all criteria will be notified by the end of December.
Spring admits that meet the October 1st deadline and meet all criteria will be notified by the end of November.

Details:

  • There are some programs ineligible for the WUE and Treasure Scholarships. If you choose an ineligible major on your admission application or via myBoiseState, you will not be considered for these scholarships. Ineligible majors include: Radiological Science, Pre-Radiological Science, self-supported and fully online programs. These programs are subject to change.
  • To be considered for the WUE (pronounced “woo-ee”), you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and have a permanent residence within one of the following participating states/U.S. territories: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Guam, and Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI).
  • WUE scholarship recipients cannot count time in WUE program towards establishing Idaho residency.
  • WUE scholarship covers 150% of the resident tuition, this is a savings of approximately $12,886.00 per year.
  • Treasure scholarship for fall 2021 cohort covers up to 50% of the nonresident portion of tuition, this is a savings of approximately $8,400.00 per year. Students admitted prior to fall 2021 will continue to review their award at $7,000.00 per year.
  • Nonresident scholarship recipients are required to enroll full-time (12 credits) each semester of the award (fall/spring terms) and are still responsible for resident fees and the uncovered portion of the nonresident fees.
  • Current information on tuition and fee costs at Boise State University can be found at the University Tuition & Fees page.
  • High School students with college credits will be considered based on their high school GPA and test scores.
  • Students with a homeschool curriculum or students who have earned a GED will be updated holistically by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Priority consideration is given to students seeking their first degree.

All scholarships are based on available funding.

Courses that are repeated within the same academic year do not count towards meeting the credit completion requirement.
