CURRENT OR CONTINUING STUDENT
A current or continuing student is defined as an individual who has completed credits at Boise State post-high school and is continuing on.
Complete the steps on this page to maximize your funding opportunities.
STEP 1: Complete the FAFSA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for the greatest number of need-based scholarships and federal financial aid. If you don’t want to be considered for federal student aid or need-based scholarships, proceed to the next step.
Students who do not meet the citizenship or eligible non-citizenship criteria for the FAFSA may still be eligible for need-based scholarships. Complete the FAFSA4caster, once completed email the confirmation page to scholarships@boisestate.edu.
Fall Priority Deadline: February 15
Spring Priority Deadline: October 1
If this deadline has passed, we still encourage you to complete the application as some financial aid may still be available. The last day a FAFSA can be submitted is June 30th.
STEP 2: Complete the Boise State Scholarship Application
You are required to complete the Boise State Scholarship Application in order to be considered for additional Department and College Scholarships.
Scholarship recipients are notified through BroncoMail and all awards are made by May 1st.
The Boise State Scholarship Application opens mid-November and most scholarship opportunities close by February 15th.
STEP 3: State of Idaho Scholarships
The State of Idaho offers a variety of scholarships, such as the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship and the Idaho Opportunity for Adult Learners Scholarship for eligible Idaho students who attend an Idaho institution.
