For my pieces I wanted to work on concept designs for a hypothetical animated production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors with a particular emphasis on character design. I created three different character designs for the most prominent characters, trying to convey their personalities while being able to design them in a way that makes sense for a full length animated film. This means I must take into consideration how to depict the characters in a way that is both visually interesting while also being easy to animate. I was influenced by the film adaptation of the musical as well as 1950’s sci-fi culture.
