Boise State Music proudly welcomes Col. Jason Fettig as the featured guest clinician for the 2023 Conducting Symposium. As the 28th Director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, Fettig is the music adviser to the White House and regularly conducts the Marine Band and Marine Chamber Orchestra at the Executive Mansion and at all Presidential Inaugurations. He also serves as music director of Washington, D.C.’s historic Gridiron Club, a position held by every Marine Band Director since John Philip Sousa.
The Conducting Symposium provides three days of camaraderie and musical growth, where conductors at all levels can come together to refine their knowledge of technique, repertoire, pedagogy, educational philosophy, score study, rehearsal concepts and more.
Concluding the event is the Finale Concert performed by the Boise State Symphonic Winds and conducted by Col. Fettig.
