The 2022 Creative Writing MFA Reading Series presents poet and translator Aditi Machado. Free and open to the public, the Creative Writing MFA Reading Series invites renowned writers to campus each fall and spring. Visiting writers give readings of their work and conduct workshops with creative writing students.

Aditi Machado writes and translates poems and essays, including her second book of poems “Emporium,” published by Nightboat in 2020, which received the James Laughlin Award. Her other works include the poetry collection “Some Beheadings” (Nightboat, 2017), a translation from the French of Farid Tali’s “Prosopopoeia” (Action Books, 2016), and several chapbooks. Machado’s work has appeared in Lana Turner, Volt, The Chicago Review, Western Humanities Review, and Jacket2. A former Poetry Editor for Asymptote, she currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati.

Machado will give a reading of her work on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, in the Great Hall in the Hemingway Center. Following the reading, Machado will sign books, which will be available for purchase.
