As a public health student, Darneille would like to see health professionals better understand that veteran life experiences can vary greatly from what might be expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an effort to better support veterans in their physical and mental health, Darneille encourages everyone to \u201cpark their assumptions\u201d and start a conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With nearly 3 decades of experience in the armed forces, Darneille said there are similarities between the dedication to service and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSign up, show up, do the work and finish what you start,\u201d Darneille said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Douglas Darneille enlisted in the United States Navy in 1976, spending five years in active&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":202,"featured_media":25328,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2709,1774,1773],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-25327","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-graduate-program","category-public-and-population-health","category-student-spotlight"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.2 (Yoast SEO v28.2) -
