Spivak presented: \u201cGender Differences in Acute Pesticide Poisonings Among Farmworkers in Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISASH is an organization dedicated to the professional development of agricultural safety and health professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spivak\u2019s research is rooted in maternal and child health and environmental epidemiology. Her presentation focuses on spreading awareness of pesticide poisoning risks facing women farmworkers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is one of several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/spph\/doctoral-student-wins-award-for-exceptional-presentation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conferences Spivak has attended<\/a> and presented in during her academic career.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs a student, it&#8217;s also really beneficial to network at conferences like this so that other researchers are aware of who I am and what work I am doing,\u201d Spivak said. \u201cThat is an invaluable stepping stone for my future career and future work in environmental health and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spivak says seeking advisers that encourage and support students in attending conferences and presenting their research makes all the difference in confidence and sharing student research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRemember that your work is valuable,\u201d Spivak says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SPPH Doctor of Public and Population Health Leadership student Meredith Spivak attended and presented at&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2296,"featured_media":29490,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2709,1774,1773],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-30348","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-graduate-program","category-public-and-population-health","category-student-spotlight"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.2 (Yoast SEO v28.2) -
