What is Alpha Phi Sigma (“APS”)?
Alpha Phi Sigma is the only National Criminal Justice Honor Society for Criminal Justice majors. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate, and s juris doctorate students in criminal justice. Boise State’s Alpha Kappa Chapter, chartered in 1983, is one of the most active chapters of the 400+ in the nation. Here’s a sample of what we do each year:

  • Community Service
CASA Holiday Project.  Members solicit donations from the community and purchase holiday gifts for 50 disadvantaged children in the Treasure Valley.
  • Fundraising
Police and Fire Testing. Members administer both the written and physical exams for prospective police officers and administer the written exam for prospective firefighters.
  • Academic Enrichment
Alpha Phi Sigma National Conference.  Qualifying members participate in the annual APS conference.  Members compete for scholarships and awards.
  • Social Activities
There are a variety of social activities for members each year, including the fall pizza party, bowling, and the spring awards banquet.
