Watching the Watchers: Security vs Liberty

Jonathan Alter, NBC News and MSNBC contributor and former Newsweek columnist, will keynote the conference on December 11. Alter is an award-winning author, reporter, columnist and television analyst. The 2012 campaign marked the eighth presidential election Alter has covered. He has frequently interviewed American presidents and other world leaders and his Newsweek cover stories over the years have included everything from Bill Clinton’s first interview after leaving the presidency to Barack Obama’s first-ever magazine cover.

The morning panel, moderated by Dr. David Adler, will include speakers from the National Security Agency, the Senate Intelligence Committee, a Fortune 500 defense contractor, and Columbia University.

The speaker for the evening conference on December 11 will be Jonathan Alter, an award-winning columnist for Newsweek magazine, and author of the new book, The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies.

While the conference is open and free to the public, advance registration will be required for the luncheon and dinner. Please use the attached form. Note application pending for Continuing Legal Education and Professional Education credits.
