For the seventh year, IPI obtained all court eviction case data in Idaho from the Idaho Supreme Court. In 2025, 3,039 (about 1.6%) of Idaho’s renting households had at least one eviction filing and 1,234 (about 0.6%) were formally evicted. 40.6% of renting households with an eviction filing received a formal eviction.
The largest counties in the state state account for 81% of the state’s eviction filings. The
following table includes the top six largest counties in Idaho along with their number of filings, formal evictions, and the percentage of filings resulting in formal evictions. Ada and Canyon counties account for 60% of all filings but only 37% of all formal evictions. This lower rate of formal evictions to filings is likely because of access to mediation and other eviction prevention services.
