Project Spotlight: Wood River Ability Program – Project & Final Presentation
Adam Pendergrass, Anika Cathcart, Parker Case
Research Assistants Adam Pendergrass, Anika Cathcart, and Parker Case, overseen by Research Associate McAllister Hall, recently completed a qualitative evaluation of the Wood River Ability Program’s adjustable sit-ski. The project set out to answer three key questions: What impact does the WRAP sit-ski have on athletes and programs? What areas could be improved? And what partnerships might support future development? Following interviews with sit-ski users and coaches, the team found the equipment to be widely praised for comfort, adjustability, and ease of use. At the same time, participants identified opportunities for improvement such as adjustability for those with spinal curvature, post slippage, and more. These findings highlight WRAP’s important role in adaptive nordic skiing and provide recommendations to enhance both equipment design and delivery.
