As the cozy fall vibes set in, the first-week excitement might be giving way to the reality of midterms. Stress and anxiety can make it feel impossible to keep up, but the truth is…you’ve got this! And you don’t have to do it alone. Here are 5 ½ campus resources available this fall (and all year long) to help you power through to winter break.
1) Campus Clothing Closet
The Campus Clothing Closet, conveniently located on the second floor of the Student Union Building, allows you to pick out clothes for free! Especially helpful with the changing seasons. Coats can be overpriced, but they are essential in the coming months. At the Campus Closet, you can browse and pick a coat that best fits your needs at no cost. Schedule an appointment to visit and pick out what suits you.
2) Boise State Mobile App
Having a visual representation of what your month, week, or day looks like is a great way to know what to expect. Obviously, things might come up, but having an outline of your day gives you structure when life feels crazy. Did you know that you can connect your Canvas and Google Calendar? This connection makes it so much easier to find out when your assignments are due.
3) Boise State Health Services
School and life can be so challenging. We aren’t meant to go through these struggles alone. It is okay if you need to talk to someone professionally about how you’ve been feeling. You could book a counseling appointment at Boise State Health Services, talk to a close friend or parent, or an RA. You are not alone.
4) Recreation Center
Exercise has been proven time and time again to be beneficial for your mental and physical health. Full-time students get free access to the Rec Center. I have my eye on their yoga and meditation classes during midterms season to help ease my mind.
5) Tutoring and Academic Support Services
Now that we are officially in full swing of things, feeling behind or like you need extra help is perfectly normal. Maybe you need help navigating your upcoming essay or preparing for an exam. Advising and Academic Support (AASC) has resources like learning centers, peer academic support, and tutoring to help.
5 ½) Stay healthy!
Colder weather means more people are getting sick. Boise State Health Services also offers flu shots, exams, checkups, sexual health services, and more.
