Are you looking for a leadership position with lots of networking opportunities? Manage Event on Campus! You will execute rounds of the event spaces, meets and check in with event clients, manages events through their completion, and report back to staff on client experience. We are looking for responsible and driven students who will track event attendance, and in general, are visible in the event spaces of the Student Union and UES-supported facilities to assist our event partners and problem solve when necessary. The job requires 8-15 hours per week (flexed around your school schedule); Sunday-Saturday between 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. The position is a 12-month position with the possibility of renewal for future years. This position begins on August 2, 2021.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. All student employees must be enrolled for 6 credit hours per semester during the regular year.
  2. Must have and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA. 
  3. Ability to type professional correspondence.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Familiar with the Student Union and its services.
  2. Knowledge of general campus guidelines and departments/resources.
  3. Experience with Google Applications 
  4. Strong typing and word processing skills.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to bend and stoop from the waist and kneel down.
  2. Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
  3. Ability to hear and communicate orally with others, accurately.
  4. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing less than 15 lbs.
  5. Ability to work with your hands and fingers.
  6. Ability to see and read PC screens and read fine and normal print.
  7. Ability to understand, retain and apply oral and/or written instructions, as well as communicate routine and factual information.
  8. Ability to use and apply basic computational skills to record, balance and check results for accuracy. Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable communications with good writing and editing skills.
  9. Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions.
  10. Ability to apply good professional judgment in performing duties.
  11. Ability to make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit.
  12. Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule.
  13. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by utilizing the telephone and email.
  14. Ability to count accurately and know how to add, subtract, multiply, & divide.
