Syringa Hall earns official LEED-Silver Certification

Two Boise State staff members give thumbs up to LEED silver certification sign on a brick wall

Syringa Hall, Boise State’s newest residence hall, is the first LEED-certified building on campus. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) recognizes facilities designed and built to strict standards.

Key features driving our LEED silver rating:

  • Student health and comfort: Enhanced indoor air quality paired with design choices prioritizing abundant natural light and quality views.
  • Bike-friendly transit: Secure, covered bicycle facilities.
  • Water efficiency: Smart indoor and outdoor systems that reduce everyday water consumption.
  • Energy optimization: Infrastructure built to lower energy demand.
  • Smart waste management: Recycling during construction diverted tons (literally) of building materials away from local landfills.
