Albertsons Stadium

Albertsons Stadium received new LED lighting as part of the university’s What’s Next Initiative, increasing energy efficiency by 60-70%, and lasting much longer than traditional lights. LEDs also provide better color rendering, less glare, and improved uniformity.
Campus-wide LED upgrades

In 2025, the Facilities, Operations and Maintenance team started a LED Lighting Upgrade Project, working building by building to replace less-efficient fixtures. More than 26 buildings across campus have been upgraded so far, including Albertsons Library, the Student Union, the Alumni and Friends Center, the Center for Visual Arts, the Environmental Research building, and the Micron Materials Building, among others.
LED lights:
- Lasts up to six times longer than the fluorescent bulbs they replace, decreasing maintenance costs.
- Use about half as much energy, offering significant savings for the university.
