Boise State harnesses solar energy across multiple points on campus.
Solar-powered device charging station

Located outside the Albertsons Library front entrance, this station was crafted by Boise State employees. It includes four 160-watt solar panels on the roof, batteries for power storage, screens for promotional messaging, and 15 charging outlets.
The station was built partially from recycled materials — the wood tabletops were originally beams in the former Applied Technology Building, recovered before the building was demolished.
Micron Business and Economics Building solar panels

Solar panels on the Micron Business and Economics Building can produce 25 kilowatts of power per day — the equivalent of energy used by about five households.

Solar-powered parking meters

Transportation and Parking Services has installed solar-powered parking meters in several locations across campus to encourage renewable energy use. Renewable energy sources like solar power help lower energy costs and reduce the campus’s overall energy footprint.
