The Undergraduate Studies office at Boise State works with partners across the university to support the undergraduate academic experience. The office is led by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, Susan Shadle.
The role of Undergraduate Studies is to attend to the academic systems, structures, and practices that support students to achieve their academic goals. We provide resources to educators to help faculty and staff to do their best work in supporting student learning. When needed, the office also assists individual students in navigating academic challenges.

Under the Undergraduate Studies umbrella are three offices that play a critical role in the lives of our undergraduates.
- Advising and Academic Support Center The goal of the Advising and Academic Support Center is to help Boise State students become more effective and aware college students by providing quality academic advising and support services.
- Center for Teaching and Learning The Center for Teaching and Learning supports effective, innovative, and transformative education at Boise State University by serving the educators who teach our students, advocating for learning environments where every student can excel.
- University Foundations University Foundations is Boise State’s general education program, which provides a broad educational foundation that anchors the more focused study students explore in their chosen major. University Foundations courses are designed to enhance students’ capacity to learn, create, and evolve—at school and beyond.
