The Executive branch consists of the President, Vice President, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President of Inclusive Excellence, Associate Vice President of Student Organization Affairs, Ethics Officer, Administrative Director, Government Relations Officer, and Communications Officer.

  • Adam Jones

    ASBSU President

    President Adam “Old Man” Jones is a political science major and is a fifth generation Idahoan who has called Boise home for the last 20 years. Adam is an aspiring politician with hopes of going to law school after college. Adam enjoys spending time at his family farm in Emmett, Idaho as well as being quite the outdoorsman.   • Ryan Bernard

    ASBSU Vice President

    Vice President Ryan Bernard is a political science major with a minor in criminal justice. Ryan is originally from Reno, Nevada and is currently a Junior at Boise State. After college Ryan hopes to attend law school in Idaho and pursue a career in politics. In his free time Ryan enjoys long walks on the beach and jams out to the Beastie Boys, also enjoys camping, shooting, skiing. Feel free to reach to Ryan with questions regarding the Assembly and anything ASBSU has to offer.

    Fun Fact: Ryan has a hole in one.

  • Kalista Barkley

    Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs

    Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs Kalista Barkley is a Psychology major and a Criminal Justice minor. She is also getting an Intermediate Spanish certificate and an Applied Leadership certificate. Kalista is from Puyallup, Washington and is in her junior year at Boise State. In her free time Kalista likes to cook new dishes, go skiing, and volunteer with campus events. Kalista also is the President of the Pre-Law Society and is a member of the Women in Business Association and the Bee Team. Kalista hopes to increase accessibility to financial aid and increase retention rates while also fostering an environment of academic excellence.

    Fun Fact: Kalista loves cats!

  • Rylee Bray

    Associate Vice President of Student Organizational Affairs

    Rylee Bray is a Sophomore studying Linguistics with a minor in French. She is the head of the funding board which grants funds for student organization use and serves as a liaison for student orgs to communicate with ASBSU. After graduating from Boise State, she plans on going to graduate school for speech-language pathology. When she isn’t in class or working, Rylee enjoys hammocking by the river, rock climbing, and swing dancing! Feel free to reach out to Rylee by email if you have any questions!

  • Melanie Figueroa Zavala

    Associate Vice President of Inclusive Excellence

    Associate Vice President of Inclusive Excellence Melanie Figueroa Zavala is majoring in Global Studies with an emphasis on World Cultures and a minor in Critical Theory. Melanie is originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, has lived in Idaho for the past nine years, and is currently a Junior at Boise State. After college Melanie hopes to continue with graduate school and pursue a career in international affairs. In her free time, Melanie enjoys traveling and learning about language and culture.     Communications Officer

    Ben Wolfe is a supply chain major with a minor in ITM. Ben is originally from Malvern, Pennsylvania and is currently a Junior at Boise State. In his free time Ben enjoys fly fishing, skiing. Ben shreds guitar and is looking for bandmates. Please reach out with any questions regarding ASBSU or joining his band.

  • Anahita Zabihi Gilvan

    Ethics Officer

    Anahita is a fourth-year biology major in her first position at ASBSU. Serving as the Ethics Officer, she is responsible for upholding the ASBSU Governing Documents, and ensuring integrity and accountability of student government. After graduation, Anahita hopes to attend medical school, but for now, she enjoys biking on the greenbelt, playing badminton, and exploring restaurants downtown. Anahita is always available via email or during office hours at the Student Involvement Center in the SUB. Please feel free to contact her with any questions or concerns!

    Fun fact: Anahita was once on a 14-hour flight.

  • Jackson Berg

    Government Relations Officer

    Government relations officer Jackson Berg is a senior studying political science with a minor in public relations. Originally from Dublin, CA (not to be confused with Dublin, Ireland) Jackson moved to Boise as a student seeking knowledge from the prestigious Boise State University. After graduating Jackson hopes to move to Washington D.C  to pursue a career in politics. When not on campus you can find Jackson walking his cat or playing golf.

    Fun Fact: Jackson is Vice President of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Boise State.

    Chief of Staff

    Chief of Staff Abby Smith is a Physics major with a planned minor in History. Abby was born in Texas but has been raised in Idaho since she was very young (she still doesn’t count as an Idahoan). After college, Abby plans to get hired by a research company and to continue on working towards her Master’s Degree focusing in on Astrophysics. In her free time Abby is either working out or studying.

    Fun Fact: Abby can name all of the Emperors of Rome from memory.
