Priority Deadlines

These priority deadlines are for undergraduate degree-seeking students. International student deadlines are earlier.

Fall/Summer Admission Priority Dates

  • Nonresident Priority Application Date:* December 15
  • Resident Priority Application Date: February 15
  • Standard Application Date: May 1

Spring Admission Priority Dates

  • Scholarship Priority Date: October 1
  • Standard Application Date: December 1

*To meet the Fall Nonresident Priority Application Date for admission and scholarships, all admission materials for new and transfer students must be received by Admissions by December 15. Students whose admission materials arrive between December 16 and February 15 will be considered if scholarship resources remain available. Only degree-seeking students are eligible for financial aid.

When will I be notified about an admission decision?

Once all your admission materials have been received it takes approximately two to three weeks to process your application and make your admission decision.  You’ll be notified of your admission decision by mail and email. A printable letter of admission will be posted on your my.BoiseState.edu page.  Get in the habit of checking your BroncoMail and my.BoiseState frequently, as important information is posted regularly.

How can I apply for an Application Fee Waiver?

Boise State University offers Admissions Application Fee Waivers for students who demonstrate financial need. Students must meet certain criteria.

Can I move my application?

If you need to move an application that you have already submitted forward or backward one semester, you must complete the Move Your Application form.

How is a student's residency determined?

Your state of legal residence is determined at the time of your initial application for admission to Boise State. Be sure to answer all questions on the admission application as fully as possible. The full process for establishing Idaho residency is listed on the Registrar’s webpage.  Further questions can be directed to Josh Wilkins at joshuawilkins@boisestate.edu.

What is a comprehensive review?

You have received the comprehensive review letter because you currently do not meet our automatic admission requirements. Boise State University has a large number of extremely qualified candidates for admission. Due to the outstanding quality of our applicant pool, we select certain students and request additional information to supplement the academic information we have on hand.
