The Arborglyph Collaborative

Location: Micron Center for Materials Research
The Arborglyph Collaborative is a tri-state academic partnership involving Boise State University, the University of Nevada, Reno, and California State University, Bakersfield. This interdisciplinary group is dedicated to documenting, preserving and studying arborglyphs: unique carvings etched into aspen trees by Basque immigrant sheepherders in the American West. Their work focuses on digital archiving, research and public accessibility to these historical cultural artifacts before they are lost to time.
Boise State Oñati Exchange Program 50th Anniversary Celebration

Join us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Boise State University’s Basque study abroad program in the town of Oñati, Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country. Engineering Discovery Tour: Research, Innovation, Impact

Join us for a morning with engineering faculty from Boise State University and the University of the Basque Country as they explore areas of mutual research interest and expertise in materials science, electrical engineering, biomechanics and mechanobiology, advanced manufacturing, machine learning, quantum information science, cybersecurity and more. Tour stops will highlight unique capabilities, multi-user facilities and potential opportunities for collaboration.
Trans-Oceanic Partnership Luncheon and Signing Ceremony

Join Boise State University and the University of the Basque Country leadership for a special luncheon and formal signing ceremony as the universities work together to continue to build stronger trans-oceanic partnerships.

Come together in celebration of the successes and milestones of this meaningful partnership, as we reflect on past achievements, recognize current advancements and look ahead to an inspiring future of collaboration.

Zortziak Bat International Symposium

Join the Basque Studies Foundation for an educational symposium that honors the legacy of “Zortziak Bat” — the “Eighth Province” — a concept that has long extended Basque identity to the global Diaspora.
Building on this rich history, the present gathering, centered on the theme “Rowing Together,” brings together scholars, artists and cultural leaders to explore the evolving tapestry of Basque identities. Together, we look to the future by fostering collaboration and inspiring new ways to learn about and celebrate the Basque experience across generations and borders.
