Accountancy Alumni Receive Distinguished Alumni Award

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI SERVICE AWARDS

The Distinguished Alumni Service Award honors inspirational recipients for their extraordinary dedication and commitment to volunteer service for the university and the Alumni Association.

TRAVIS BURGESS, ’98, partner, Eide Bailly (past Alumni Association board president, current treasurer for the Past Alumni Leaders chapter)

Travis Burgess has been a guiding force for the Boise State Alumni Association since joining its board in 2005. His alumni leadership resume includes participation on most, if not all, committees and service in all executive committee positions, including two terms as treasurer and long hours as the association’s volunteer accountant.

A partner at the local offices of Eide Bailly, a regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm headquartered in Fargo, N.D., Burgess participated in all association events, including activities away from Boise, during his leadership tenure from 2005-2011.

He has been steadfast in his support of the Future Alumni Network Club by attending student events, and he continues to recruit Bronco Contacts, alumni volunteers who organize Boise State events in their hometowns across the nation.

Since leaving active service with the association’s board, Burgess has remained engaged as a member of the steering committee for the Boise State Alumni and Friends Center, is the treasurer for the Boise State Past Alumni Leaders Chapter, and continues to offer his professional expertise to the nonprofit in a variety of ways.

Burgess received his BBA in accountancy in 1998 and he has been a Lifetime Alumni Association member since 1999. Burgess and his wife, Terri, have two sons, one of whom currently is attending Boise State.
