
We invite applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in the field of Computer Engineering beginning August 2022. Outstanding candidates will ideally have a doctoral degree in computer engineering or a similar field, industry experience, and some experience teaching. Significant industry experience in combination with a master’s degree will also be considered favorably. Candidates with experience in embedded systems, cyber-physical systems and hardware security, computer networks, digital systems design, prototyping & testing, and computer architecture are especially encouraged to apply.

Level / Scope
The Clinical Assistant Professor is a position with an entry-level rank. The primary duties are in the area of clinical instruction.
Essential Functions
- Teach lower- and upper-division courses related to digital systems, microprocessors, embedded computing, and computer architecture
- Mentor and advise undergraduate computer system engineering students
- Direct culminating activities for undergraduate students
- Contribute to the University and Department through relevant service
- Engage in professional development
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to teach lower- and upper-division computer engineering courses
- Commitment to excellence in teaching
Minimum Requirements
- MS in Computer Engineering or related field
- Three years of relevant industry experience
- Evidence of teaching, mentoring, and educational outreach
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned PhD in Computer Engineering or related field
- 15 years of relevant industry experience
- Expertise in network communication, IoT, cybersecurity, digital and embedded systems, computer architecture
