Xiong's Electrochemical Energy Materials Laboratory

Our interdisciplinary research leverages electrochemistry, surface chemistry, and materials science and engineering. Current group interests include (1) synthesizing and characterizing new nano-architectured electrode materials for energy storage and conversion,  (2) developing a better understanding of structure-property-processing-performance relationships in order to further advance functional material development, (3) probing and understanding surface reactivity, interfaces, dynamics of electrode materials through in situ/operando characterizations (synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy and scattering, Raman, scanning probe microscopy, etc.)and (4) radiation effects in ceramic materials.
