Geo-Mechanics and Geo-Imaging (GMGI) Group

Welcome to the Geo-Mechanics and Geo-Imaging (GMGI) Group at Boise State University.

We are a group of students, faculty, and staff with a shared interest in characterizing natural and infrastructure materials. Our group focuses on the following:

• • Laboratory characterization of materials using destructive testing, laboratory-based geophysics, and imaging tools to characterize the engineering properties and behaviors of materials,
  • Field investigations for assessing, characterizing, understanding, and predicting rock-based geologic hazards, and
  • Computer simulations for assessing, quantifying, and understanding the behavior of materials.
