Honorees
Dr. Joe Guarino

Boise State University
1991-2021
Dr. Guarino began his teaching career in the Engineering department at Boise State University in 1991. He served as the Chair of the Mechanical Engineering department from its inception in 1996 until the spring of 2001. Previous to his BSU teaching career, Joe was a research engineer at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.
Joe is committed to student success. His volunteering in the Tutoring Center and providing one-on-one time in his office have made a huge difference for many students.
Dr. John Gardner

Boise State University
2000-2021
Dr. John Gardner joined the College of Engineering 21 years ago and served as the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Chair from 2001 through 2007. His research and teaching focus on the integration and control of energy systems. While Dr. Gardner has been at Boise State since 2000, his career has spanned nearly 3 decades. He has published 2 textbooks and over 60 peer-reviewed research papers and 3 patents.
