Instructor Annual Professional Development

The Boise State University Concurrent Enrollment program offers professional development opportunities for instructors to ensure an equivalent and quality classroom experience. Ongoing professional development opportunities enhance the overall quality of the Concurrent Enrollment program by providing a foundation for meaningful, continued learning and collegial interaction for instructors. Our academic departments collaboratively share the latest knowledge, best practices and updates in their academic discipline.

PD Support from Faculty Liaisons

Each academic department has a designated faculty member who serves as the liaison with the high school instructor, providing guidance for the curriculum to be aligned with the college course. The department serves as an academic resources and is expected to include the high school instructor in all departmental events, professional development opportunities and listservs.

Annual Concurrent Enrollment Instructor Training

All NEW concurrent enrollment instructors are required to attend our annual concurrent enrollment instructor training each year. Continuing instructors are encouraged to attend to hear program updates and review the Faculty Handbook. Faculty liaisons will schedule separate professional development meetings with CE instructor(s) on alternate meetings dates.

2024 New Instructor Training

New instructors for the 2024-2025 school year are required to attend our new instructor training. Meeting content will cover program policies, the student registration process, and how to access myBoiseState faculty pages. We will also cover the program accreditation standards from the National Alliance for Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. We will provide training on how to maintain the Faculty and Curriculum standards.

Required Meeting (In-Person): Wednesday, June 5, 2024

  • Meeting: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Lunch: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Note: Faculty liaisons will schedule professional development meetings with CE instructor(s) on alternate meetings dates. The meetings may take place during the school year or be scheduled on the same day as the classroom site visit. It’s important for CE instructors and the faculty liaisons to communicate with one another on a regular basis regarding the best time to schedule the annual professional development meeting.

Ongoing Professional Development for Concurrent Enrollment Instructors

Concurrent Enrollment is excited to partner with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to provide meaningful resources to both the concurrent enrollment instructors and faculty liaison as they continue to build excellence in teaching. Visit the CTL website for a wealth of information related to teaching support, which includes online webinars, online workshops, and one-on-one training.
