The Boise State University Conduct Body is comprised of students, faculty, and staff members at Boise State University. The Conduct Body serve on both the University Conduct Hearing Board and the University Appellate Board.

The university delegates to the Conduct Hearing Board the authority and responsibility for conducting hearings for students accused of violations of the Student Code of Conduct. While some of the cases brought to it are minor, the Board is most often called on to resolve the more serious complaints of misconduct, both on- and off-campus, especially those that might jeopardize the student’s enrollment including multiple violations of academic misconduct. The Appellate Board is responsible for reviewing all conduct appeals submitted to the Office of the Dean of Students.

Expectation of Conduct Body

All members, staff, faculty, and students, must agree to serve in accordance with written ethical standards involving confidentiality, objectivity, and support. We are looking for members who are seriously committed to being fair and impartial, to being good listeners, and being actively involved in promoting standards of acceptable behavior within the campus community, especially as it relates to the Boise State University Statement of Shared Values. Members must be open to multiple perspectives and able to reevaluate one’s own opinions in response to others that also serve on the board. We are looking for individuals who possess the belief that students can learn from their mistakes and should be held accountable for inappropriate behavior through educationally sound responses.
