Video Transcript – College of Education Life at Home: Michele Carney

Video Transcript

[Michele Carney, associate professor of mathematics education]: Hi my name is Michele Carney and I work in the College of Education. This is a quick “Day in the Life” of our family during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Carney family is made up of Michelle, which is me, Jason, Ellie, Quinton, Jane, Sticks, and the newest family member, Otis. We were in the middle of a kitchen remodel when the stay-at-home order went into effect so we’re having fun prepping food and washing dishes in our bathroom. We are settling into a routine: Jason works from home and gets stared at by Sticks all day long; Ellie loves to draw, is fixing a quilt, and fights with her sister over who loves the new puppy the most. Jane runs with her brother, works on soccer skills, bakes cakes on the barbecue, and plays with the puppy as much as possible. Quinton is running, working out, and making lots of videos for his YouTube channel “Spud History.” I’m teaching and working from the desk in my bedroom and I go on lots of walks with Quinton and Sticks. Honestly, we’ve had a good time hanging out as a family, at times. And we hope everyone is doing as well as they can given the current situation and look forward to things getting back to normal as soon as possible.
