Institutional Design Innovation for Power System Reliability in Alaska

We are seeking candidates for one fully funded position (tuition plus stipend) for Spring 2023 under the supervision of Stephanie Lenhart (Energy Policy Institute and School of Public Service). The position will contribute to a National Science Foundation funded project to improve the reliability of the US power grid. Working with stakeholders in the Alaska Railbelt, we will examine how the transition to a reliable future grid can be made more efficient, sustainable, and equitable with consideration of how engineering metrics and models are embedded in processes and institutions. Candidate should have a demonstrated interest in energy policy, interdisciplinary approaches, and community engagement.

Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) receive a competitive stipend, tuition (in or out-of-state), and student fees for the given semester. The appointment requires a 20-hour per week commitment for research activities. Graduate Research Assistants must be admitted to the Boise State University Graduate College and be fully admitted to their degree program, carrying at least 9 graduate credit hours during the relevant semester of the school year.
