About
Margaret joined the department in Fall 2000 after completing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics Education) at Penn State University. Prior to graduate school, Margaret taught mathematics to inmates of the Alabama state prison system.
Margaret’s interests within mathematics education include students’ algebraic thinking and symbol sense, the use of examples in teaching and learning, and preparation of K-12 mathematics teachers.
