Prof. Chris Ammirati

About Prof. Ammirati

Christopher Ammirati joined the faculty at Boise State in the fall of 2016. He is currently principal bassist with the Boise Philharmonic, and has performed with Opera Idaho. Christopher earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in double bass performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and also studied for two years at Oberlin College. His primary teachers include Scott Dixon, Max Dimoff and Jeff Bradetich.

During his years in Cleveland, Christopher was an active freelance musician and performed with various groups in the midwest including the Blossom Festival Band, Canton Symphony, Akron Symphony and the Erie Philharmonic. He also has performed at summer music festivals around the country, including festivals in Houston, Round Top (TX), Chautauqua (NY), and Bellingham (WA).
