Gautam Basu Thakur was co-editor with Jonathan Michael Dickstein of Lacan and the Nonhuman (The Palgrave Lacan Series), published by Palgrave.
The collection of essays explores the implications of returning the subject of desire (or, the unconscious) to the nonhuman turn, that is, emerging discussions of animate matter, nature and animals, thereby seeking to connect Freudian-Lacanian theory to the concept of the nonhuman and repurposing the speculative directions for both.
